Cassandra McGovern- professionally referred to as Venüs is an Australian singer, songwriter, and dancer. Growing up in South-East Brisbane, Venüs was quickly introduced to music from a young age, as she began playing piano classically from the age of 5. Since then, Venüs has worked towards developing her skills as songwriter, producer, and performer. Venüs takes inspiration from artists like Lana Del Ray, Billie Eilish, Grimes, FKA Twigs and Kali Uchis.
Venüs first discovered her liking for songwriting during her High School music class, where she began putting music together using voice memos and Garageband. Since then, music has become a major outlet for Venüs and has enabled her to turn complex feelings and experiences into something she can cherish and share with others.
Venüs‘ sound can be best described as alternative synth-pop mixed with a fairy-core atmosphere. Recently, Venüs has been working on a few projects behind the scenes and hopes to debut her new EP ‘M’ with a music video within the next coming months. Alongside this release, throughout this year Venüs hopes to establish herself more as an artist and to appear more frequently in live events performing her music.
