Brisbane’s favourite 5 piece indie rockers Sid’s Balcony have perfectly melded their stylistic blend of dreamy-psychedelic-rock-hip-hop infused groove into the shape of their newest single ‘Roll Me Up’, released on September 18th.
The track is the fruition of a dynamic sound, honed through previous releases ‘Before You Forget, ‘All My Days’ and ‘Be Around You’. Each track subsequently fashioned with a new and unique mixture of sonic styles.
‘Roll Me Up’ is an enticing concoction of sustained bluesy riffs, funk-fuelled wah-wahs and sassy charismatic vocals, tied together with a cruisey hypnotic beat that walks beside you through a smooth transition of bright melodies.
The catchy hit is reminiscent of Winston Surfshirt and The Delta Riggs, with vocal style evocative of Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones. ‘Roll Me Up’ is set to have any free-spirited heart letting down their hair and shaking their hips.
On October 17th at The Black Bear Lodge, Sid’s Balcony are debuting ‘Roll Me Up’ in a dual single launch with fellow Brisbane rockers Proverbial Groove, who will simultaneously be unveiling their new single ‘Back To Me’. With complimenting styles and matching energies these two acts are set to come through with a crowd-stirring dance-inducing performance.
“We wanted to make this track a little more edgy than our previous singles by getting outside our bedroom studio and recording everything through microphones. The guitars have way more grunge then our usually polished clean sound and the kit ended up sounding really massive in the large room we recorded it in. We still wanted to have the smooth silky vocals in the chorus but we really roughed up the amps so that the guitars were going through to make the song edgier”. – James Massingham, Frontman of Sid’s Balcony.
‘Roll Me Up’ has been released for listening on Itunes Store, Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube Music and Amazon Music.
