I am Orlan, an emerging artist in the Meanjin music scene. My commitment to expressing my emotions in their purest form is the core of my songwriting, and it is for this reason I struggle to label my music under a particular genre. What you can expect is a highly dynamic performance that will range from explosive and intense to soft and intimate.
Most of my songs explore heavier themes as I am often compelled to write about the darkness I see in myself and the world. I aim to bring a sense of vulnerability and catharsis to my performances that is both healing to me and impactful to my audience. I hope that when people listen to my music, they can feel my authenticity and explore all the sounds I have to offer.
My sound has been heavily inspired by bands like Radiohead, Pink Floyd and Ben Howard, but the musical language that I speak has been influenced by every single song I have ever listened to. I perform my music both as an acoustic act and with a full piece band.
